Radon Testing Services
Environmental Works provides short term radon testing (48 hour minimum) using a state of the art Sun Nuclear active continuous radon monitor. This allows us to get you results immediately upon completing the test, saving valuable time. Unlike passive tests, a single active continuous test is sufficient to make a recommendation for installing a radon reduction system. We also offer passive charcoal canister and alpha track testing for short and long term tests (greater than 90 days) upon owner’s request. Water sampling tests may also be provided for homes served by well water. Test results include a written report and recommendations for radon mitigation when needed.
Radon Mitigation Services
Environmental Works provides a free radon mitigation system consultation and quote if elevated radon levels have been found. All of our systems are guaranteed for 10 years to remain below the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L, and we always design our systems to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Our radon fans also carry a 5 year manufacturers warranty. Many of our radon systems can be hidden within the interior of the home and exit the roof like a standard plumbing vent. Exterior systems are installed in an ideal location, and may be painted to match existing exterior color. Our systems receive a post mitigation test to insure that they are performing correctly.
Our radon reduction systems are typically “active” systems using a continuous radon fan and vent piping to create a negative pressure under a concrete slab (sub-slab depressurization), under a soil-gas membrane in a crawl space (sub-membrane depressurization), or a combination. Some systems may also be incorporated into a new or existing sump when subsurface groundwater is also an issue. “Passive” systems may be sufficient in new construction projects, with the option to make them active if radon levels test above the EPA action level of 4.0 pCi/L. Every radon reduction system is designed specifically for your home using high quality materials and workmanship.
